Benjamin Carl Nelson, 23, of Brunswick passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014. Ben will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. He was the kind of young man that anyone would be proud to call son, brother, grandson, and friend. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Brunswick, Georgia.
Ben was born July 2, 1991 to Ronald Lee and Linda Noga-Nelson in Upland, California. He was a 2009 Graduate of Arlington High School in Riverside, California. Ben was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Brunswick, Georgia. He was a third degree with the Knights of Columbus, Henry T. Ross Council 1939 and a member of The North Florida Subaru Group. He loved all Minions and the beach. A day did not go by that he did not talk with his father, mother, and brother. Ben was an amazing young man with a zest for life who loved his family and his friends; he will be greatly missed by his family and all those who had the opportunity to laugh with him. He loved getting tattoos, going fishing, and running the Subaru through the mud. No matter where he was, he made everything fun.
His favorite saying, “Be a Flashlight,” symbolizes his life – he was a caring leader who would rather walk in others shadows before shining a light upon himself. Along with his mother and father, Ben is survived by his loving wife: Megan Brown-Nelson of Brunswick; his two infant children: Hazel and Sydney Nelson; younger brother: Daniel Nelson; two grandparents and multiple aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the account of Benjamin’s two children account under Hazel Nelson at Marshland Credit Union Bank, 912-265-5835. Arrangements are under the direction of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, www.edomillerandsons.com.
