

Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, March 1, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. Peter Vivenzio, Dr. Earl Larry Boyette, and Rev. Ron Stinson officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Park Cemetery with Robert Ussery, Randy Johns, Billy Wetherington, Andy Hall, Herbert Rogers, and Lorenzia Pitts serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Sojourners Sunday School Class of Calvary Baptist Church.
Born April 4, 1932 in Alma, Georgia to the late Pearly A. and Penelope N. Taylor she was a homemaker raising three children. She had been a resident of Glynn County since 1962 and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she attended Sojourners Sunday School Class. Mrs. Crosby enjoyed shopping, singing and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Albert Hughes.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Lavon Crosby of Brunswick, two sons, Ronald Albert Hughes and wife Brenda of Forsyth, Allen Hughes and wife Robyn of Centerville, a daughter, Cynthia Hughes Strickland and husband Ed of St. Simons Island, stepchildren, Richard Crosby and wife Carol and Peggy Harris and husband David all of Yulee, FL, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, two brothers, W.A. Taylor and wife Jerri of Lakeland, Larry Taylor of White Oak, three sisters Lataine Peeples of Kingsland, Christine Hardaway of White Oak, and Teresa Kelly of Jacksonville, several nieces and nephews.
