Betty Jean Long, 77, of Brunswick, GA died Saturday March 5, 2011 at the Hospice of the Golden Isles. A lifelong native of Glynn County, born September28, 1933 to the late George M. Spivey, Sr. and the late Jimmy Marcell Wages. She was a graduate of Glynn Academy and a retired finance and credit manger. Mrs. Long was a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church and the Doer’s of the Word Sunday School Class where she served as Treasurer. She leaves a legacy of fond memories and will be missed by all.
No services at this time, interment will be private in Palmetto Cemetery.
In addition to her parent’s she is preceded in death by her husband James Freddie Long.
Survivors include her daughter Marsha Doyal of Brunswick, GA., a son Jimmy Long of Jacksonville, Fl., and a grandson Dru (Bo) Doyal of Brunswick, GA, sister-in-law Carol Sheppard of Jacksonville, FL., and several nieces and nephews.
