

Bobbie Ann Gore, 78, of Valona, departed this life and went to be with The Lord, Thursday, January 7, 2016 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Monday, January 11, 2016 at Darien United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Hueling and Rev. Franklin Pierce officiating. Interment will follow in Hopkins Cemetery in Crescent, Georgia with her grandsons, Chris Jenkins, Lanier Gore, Jeremy Gore, Will Gore, Jonathan Gore, Robert Gore, Jack Gore III, Jared Gore and George Gore serving as pallbearers.
Born September 28, 1937 in Augusta, Georgia to the late George A. and Theo R. Franklin, she was a homemaker raising four children and was the supporting backbone of the families shrimping business. She helped support and ensure all aspects of raising and providing for her family were taken care of. Mrs. Gore was a graduate of Darien High School Class of 1956 and had been a resident of McIntosh County for most of her life. She had been a member of Darien United Methodist Church for 68 years and enjoyed gardening, home decorating and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter in law, Meg Gore.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years Jack Gore of Valona, four children, Timothy A. Gore of Meridian, Thomas L. Gore of Meridian, Sylvia Rozell and husband Butch of Shiloh, GA, and Lamar Gore and wife Pam of Crescent, 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, 2 sisters, Bertie Glynn Mixon of Hephzibah, and twin sister Billie Dell Jarriel of Darien, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Shelia Johnson for many years of love and care she has given to our mother.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon, January 10, 2016 from 3PM until 5 PM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of The Golden Isles or Darien United Methodist Church. www.edomillerandsons.com
