Bonnie Maria Clark Harris, 77, passed away peacefully in her home on April 8, 2026. A Holy Eucharist will be conducted on Monday, April 20th at 11am at Christ Church Frederica with a reception to follow at Village Creek Landing.
Bonnie was born on May 12, 1948, in Tallahassee, Florida to the late Otho and Rose M. Clark. As a child she spent her summers at her family beach cottage on Live Oak Island, Florida. She later enjoyed bringing her young family to her cherished beach cottage. After graduating from Leon High School in Tallahassee, Bonnie attended Florida State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Business in 1973.
Bonnie and her family moved to St. Simons Island in 1978. She began her professional career with Glynn County Tax Office. After leaving the Tax Office, she worked for Trust Company Bank, now Truist Bank, where she was an Assistant Vice President. Upon retiring from SunTrust, Bonnie worked with Golden Isles YMCA in fundraising as well as various other jobs including The Swing Set, Glynn Visual Arts, and Whippersnappers to help support her grandchildren’s closets.
Bonnie was a faithful member of Christ Church Frederica. She is most remembered for chairing The Tour of Homes for many, many years. She also sang in the choir and read Evening Prayer at St. Ignatius Chapel. She was also active in her neighborhood association, Black Banks Homeowners Association, serving as the treasurer. Bonnie also mentored students at St. Simons Elementary. In her retirement years, she was a devoted Mimi to her 7 grandchildren who she loved with her whole heart: Blake, Payton, Kinslee, Grace, Bella, Ben, and Parker. Bonnie loved needlepointing, golden retrievers, entertaining, gardening, holidays, writing, painting, going to the beach, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. She also loved boating, crabbing, and before the dog days of summer set in, spending time outside in nature.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Minor Sadler Harris, Jr, her brother Wayne Clark, and her parents. Survivors include her sister Cheryl Jo Clark of McIntosh; her children Chris Bradley of Acworth, GA; Summer Little (Jason) of St. Simons Island; Scott Bradley (Jennifer) of St. Simons Island, and her beloved grandchildren: Blake and Payton Bradley; Grace and Ben Little; and Kinslee, Bella, and Parker Bradley.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Bonnie’s name to Christ Church Frederica or The Humane Society of South Coastal Georgia.
