Carol was born the 29th of July 1940 in Macon, Georgia to the late George Marion Kinard, and the late Ann Mildred Hudson Kinard.
In addition to Carol’s parents she is preceded in death by her brother, George Kinard.
Carol is survived by her daughters Kelli Cravens of Houston, TX and Farise Posey (Mitchell) of Cumming, GA and grandchildren Campbell, Kirby, and Farise Cravens, and Hudson Posey.
She was driven by education both personally and professionally. Carol graduated from Georgia Southern University with degrees in Biology and Chemistry. Her education continued at Valdosta State University with master’s degrees in Broad Science and Administration. Carol’s most prized trip was taking her gifted students to Cumberland Island. There she was able to share her love of land and sea to those she taught. After retiring from RESA, the ocean called to her and St. Simons became her new home. Carol enjoyed walks on the beach where she collected seashells and horseshoe crabs.
