

Clara Olsen Larsen Klimp was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother during her incredible 95 years of life. She passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 surrounded by her family and in the loving care of Hospice of the Golden Isles.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at St. James Lutheran Church, 2229 Starling Street, Brunswick, GA with Pastor Marie Kane and Pastor Steve Hilgeman officiating. A reception will follow. Interment will be scheduled at a later date to be determined by the family.
A native of Brunswick, Georgia, Mrs. Klimp was well-loved by many in the community. She was a 1946 graduate of Glynn Academy and was very active with alumni events for many years. Mrs. Klimp was also well-known through her years of service to the nutrition department of the Glynn County School System. She was especially proud to become the first cafeteria manager of Brunswick High in 1968, where she never missed a home football or basketball game during her time there.
Mrs. Klimp truly lived a life in service to others and to her community; she sang in the choir at St. James Lutheran Church (where she also taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible school for decades), she volunteered as a reading teacher at Brunswick Christian Academy, and she helped at the Manna House soup kitchen.
Mrs. Klimp was predeceased by her parents Walter and Olga Larsen, sisters Sophie Mayfield (Jim) and Christine Medine (Joe), and by her husband of 65 years and the love of her life, Henry Joseph Klimp. She is survived by their three children; Lydia Richard (Wayne) of Orlando, FL, Debbie Dineen (Frank) of St. Simons, GA, and Paul Klimp (Lynn Woodward) of St. Simons, GA. Mrs. Klimp is also survived by eight grandchildren; Catherine Maybank, Angela Dineen, Debbie Harper (Brian), Jennifer Dineen, Mark Richard (Katie), Dalton Klimp (Sam), Lt. Frank Dineen (Beth), Henry Dineen; and the apples of her eye - 11 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Klimp will be remembered for her steadfast faith, fierce love of family, sharp wit, forthright nature, and endearing stubbornness.
