

She is survived by her husband, Bobby Lee Hall; her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Anderson Durant; her son, James Ernest Williamson, Jr., her daughter-in-law, Margaret Carter Williamson; three grandchildren, Patricia Ann Anderson, James E. Williamson III (Mary Ann) and Melodee M. Williamson Clark (Lance); six great-grandchildren, Brittany Anderson, Blake Anderson, James Williamson IV, John Herrin, Jr., Dakota Clark and Cheyenne Clark; a sister, Ella Hunter Waters; a brother-in-law, Thomas Hall (Hazel and children) of Marietta; two sisters-in-law, Mary Ford (Bob and children) of Savannah and Carol Long (& son) of Brunswick; seven nieces, Joy Bell, Brenda Kay Bell, Janet Brownlee, Joanie Bedenbaugh, Marie Gibson, Susan Farley and Barbara Busbin; four nephews, Roy Bell, Jr., William T. Hunter, Jr., Chris Hunter, Donald Waters, their spouses, children and grandchildren.
She is the daughter of the late William Leslie Hunter, Sr. and Jamie Elmino Messex Hunter. She was preceded in death by three of her siblings, Versie Hunter Bell, William Thompson Hunter and William Leslie Hunter, Jr.
Irene was born August 15, 1932 in Burke County, Georgia, and moved to Brunswick in the early 1950’s. She and Bob moved to Lakeland, Florida, where she worked as an LPN at Bishop’s Court Nursing Home. They returned to Brunswick later to be closer to family. In the early 1990’s they moved to Brantley County. Bob and Irene celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2015. She loved her family and delighted in cooking many special meals for them. Irene’s health had been declining for many years but she stayed strong and as active as possible. She was a member of Bay Harbour Church of God in Brunswick.
Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at the funeral home. Rev. John Harris, Jr. will officiate the funeral service on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home in Brunswick. Burial will follow in Palmetto Cemetery.
