Visitation will be at South Newport Baptist Church on Saturday, December 17th, 2022 from 9 am until 10 am with a Celebration of Life beginning 10 am.
After moving to Georgia at 12 years old from Southington, CT, Dennis attended school in McIntosh County. Although he had a deep Yankee accent, he quickly became just one of the guys and was loved by all. Dennis became the owner of NAPA, Eulonia Auto Parts, where he spent his career witnessing to people about Jesus and selling car parts for over 40 years. People would sometimes stop by the store to purchase parts, and at other times, just to get their daily dose of Jesus. He always brought a positive light to every situation and used humor to lift spirits and cope with tough situations.
Dennis had a deep faith in God, loved his church, and had a great tenor voice, and on rare occasions would sing a solo. He loved to fish, travel, spend time with his family and golf.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 53 years, Bootie Goodrich, 2 daughters, Denise Wylie (Craig) of Lawrenceville, Brandy Mazloum (Cyril) of Peachtree Corners, 4 Grandchildren, Ashley Wylie, Steven Wylie (Anna), Sophie Mazloum, Emma Mazloum, and one Great Grandchild, Aldrich Dennis Wylie. He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Niece, Jennifer O’Day (Anthony) of Belle Plain, MN, was like a daughter to him.
Dennis is survived by 4 siblings, Sybil Wooten, Shelley Skipper (Johnny), Thomas Goodrich (Vicki), and Mark Goodrich (Annette). Preceded in death by his sister Sandra Wallace (Shorty) and parents Fernly George Goodrich and Janet Lawson Goodrich.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital-www.stjude.org.
