Doris Irene Joiner

Mrs. Joiner was a native of Dansville, New York and a former resident of Honeoye, N.Y. until 1973 moving to Brunswick and prior to 1973 was church Secretary of United Church of Christ in New York and was a member of the Friendship Circle. She attended the Springwater School in Springwater, New York. She was a Art Association and very active in basket weaving, painting, gardening, sewing, needlework and other arts and crafts. She won the Dress A Doll contest several times.

She was a member of the Northside Baptist Church in Brunswick.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Guthrie B. Stone, Sr. and her second husband, Ivey Joiner and a great-grandson, Grant Guthrie Stone.

Survivors are her children, Alan J. Stone (Sandra) of Naples, N.Y., Gary L. Stone (Bonnie) of Waupaca, Wisconsin, Laurie S. Adams (Richard) of Woodlands, Texas, Guthrie B. Stone, Jr.( Linda), of Brunswick, her step-children, Thomas L. Joiner of Brunswick, Mary Harrell (Wallace) of St. Simons, Barbara Chaney (Larry) of Douglas, Ga., Larry Joiner (Virginia) of Brunswick, Rev. Darrell Joiner (Sharon) of Brunswick Charles A. Joiner (Diane) of Brunswick, and Glynn joiner of Douglas, Ga., a sister, Aledia W. Murphy of Clearwater, FL., 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren , 14 step-grandchildren, 23 step great grandchildren, 2 step- great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Friday 5/4/12 in the Northside Baptist Church in Brunswick with Rev. Darrell Joiner officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Brunswick.

The family will receive friends in the Church from 10 to 11 AM Friday. And request in lieu of flowers contributions to the Northside Baptist Church of Brunswick.
