

Dot was born December 10, 1925 in Manchester, Georgia the daughter of the late Frank Wilson and the late Lucy Mae Wilson. She was the loving wife to the late Henry Pete Stinson. Dot was also a devoted mother and grandmother. She was also known as “Granny” by her grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Dot was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Lucy Mae Wilson; her husband Henry Pete Stinson; two daughters, Kay Thigpen and Carol Middleton; two sons, Mike and Ronnie Stinson; a granddaughter, Paige Thigpen; one brother, James Frank Wilson. Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Theresa Hellin (Curtis) of Brunswick; her four granddaughters, Miranda Booth (Trevor) of Brunswick, Heather Daniels (Vernon) of Brunswick, Robyn Tanner (Tony) of Dublin, and Tyla Smith (Steve) of North Carolina; two grandsons, Timmy Stinson of Brunswick and Brandon Hellin of Miami; her seven precious great grandchildren that she loved dearly, Khloe Harrell, Jessica Deaton, Madison Tanner, Perry Tanner, Mabry Stinson, Elysia Smith, and Orion Smith; one nephew, James Wilson (Sara).
Dot was a kind, caring, compassionate, hardworking lady. She loved to spend time with her family and friends. Dot was a hospitable person and enjoyed cooking for her guest. She liked playing bingo and cards. Her favorite card game was rummy. Dot held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and her seven wonderful great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Dot’s family will have many fond memories to cherish for years to come.
A Celebration of Life Service to honor Dot’s life will be held at 5:00 PM Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends after the service on Blythe Island at 145 Burney Rd, Brunswick, GA 31523.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to four wonderful nurses for their tender loving care given to Dot; Miriam Cristobal and Sandra Sams of Hospice of the Golden Isles, Lori Collins and Caroline Riley of Magnolia Manor.
