Dorothy Mae Walter

Dorothy Mae Walter, 75, of Brunswick, GA died Monday the 30th of September 2013 at Southeast Georgia Health System. A memorial service will be held 1:30 PM Saturday the 5th of October 2013 with family receiving friends one hour prior to service time 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM at Blythe Island Baptist Church, with Reverend Tim Brown officiating.

Mrs. Walter is a life-long native of Brunswick, GA born the 22nd of March 1938 to the late Lacy Milton Griner and the late Edna Mae Griffin Griner. She was a homemaker and a 1955 Class Graduate of Glynn Academy. Mrs. Walter is a founding member of the Blythe Island Baptist Church and a previous leader of the GA’s. She enjoyed baking candies and cakes and spending time with her family and friends. She leaves behind many fond memories that will be cherished by all.

In addition of Mrs. Walter’s parents she is preceded in death by her brother Bobby Griner.

Survivors include her husband John E. Walter; son, Rick Walter (Brenda); daughter, Vickie Walter; son, Tim Walter (Kris); eight grandchildren, Christina Basham, Lacie Tyrer (Luke), Jonathan Walter (Nichole), grandson, James Calhoun (Justina), grandson, Chris Calhoun, Cherrish Calhoun, Denise Crooker, and Ashley Tillman (Bradley); eleven great-grandchildren, Zakary Basham, William Tyrer, Leah Tyrer, Alexander Walter, Holden Calhoun, Caleb Calhoun, Colby Calhoun, Clayton Calhoun, Kendyl Calhoun, Christa Crooker, and Cameron Crooker; nephews, Robert Griner and Ben Griner.
