Born July 06, 1935 in Screven, Georgia to the late Clark and Mary Smith.
In addition to Edwin’s parents he is preceded in death by his wife Lucy Goodwin Smith: an infant daughter, Karen June Smith, and two brothers Charles Smith and Joe Smith.
Survivors include a son Alan E. Smith of Jacksonville Fl, a daughter Robin Smith Lemmond of Brunswick Ga., 5 grand children: Serge James(Reyna) Christopher Smith (Mandy) Mandi Stout (Jonathan) Emily James (Scott) and Eric Lemmond. He also had six great-grandchildren: Sadie Stout, Lucy Ann Stout: Hunter Graham, Riley Graham: Taylor Smith and Tristen Smith .
He is also survived by a sister Gwen Moore(Bobby) of Savannah, and a brother John Smith(Nancy) of
St . Simons Island, Ga.
He was a graduate of Glynn Academy class of 1953. He married Lucy Ann Goodwin in 1954.
Edwin spent 20 years in the United States Air Force and retired with rank of Msgt. After his career in the Air Force he worked at Hercules in Brunswick Ga. retiring after 20 years.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home and Oglethorpe Crematorium in Brunswick, Georgia.
