

Elizabeth S. Norvell, 91, of St. Simons Island, departed this life Sunday, December 13, 2015 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11Am Friday, December 18, 2015 in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Tony Lankford and Rev. Dr. Felix Haynes officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Park Cemetery with Ron Norvell, Mark Norvell, Ian Norvell, David Norvell, James Norvell, and Drew Norvell serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be member of Friendship Finders Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church of St. Simons Island.
Born March 10, 1924 in Purcell, Oklahoma to the late Ed and Myrtle Anne J. Sims, Mrs. Norvell attended Washington Oklahoma High School, and worked as a drill press operator during WWII for Douglas Aircraft. She had been a resident of St. Simons Island since 1998, where she was a member of First Baptist Church of St. Simons Island and the Friendship Finders Sunday School Class. She enjoyed crochet and sewing, as well as walks, cooking, and arts and crafts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William R. Norvell, her siblings, Wyman Sims, Louise Johnston, Claburn Sims, and Beverly Woods, and a granddaughter, Sara Elaine Norvell.
Survivors include two sons, Mark Norvell and wife Lee of St. Simons Island, and Ronald Norvell and wife Barbara of San Antonio, TX, six grandchildren, David Marcus Norvell, James Randolph Norvell, Andrew Lee Norvell, Ian Andrew Norvell, Ashley Rebekah Norvell, and Brittany Leigh Broege, and five great grandchildren, William Alexander Norvell, Luke Andrew Norvell, Jack Gilbert Norvell, Tristan Xavier Norvell, and Lydia Grace Norvell.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening, December 17, 2015 from 6PM until 8 PM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of The Golden Isles. www.edomillerandsons.com
