Evyon Evelyn Holmes, 92, of Hortense, Georgia passed away at the Wayne Memorial Hospital on Monday, August 14, 2023. A Brantley county resident for the better part of 41 years, friends and family fondly remember the time she spent taking care of her beloved flower garden.
Evyon was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Holmes; her sons, Gerald Johnson and Jerry Johnson; and a grandson, Matthew Jacobs.
She leaves behind three daughters, Louise Barr, Faye Clay (Alton), and Gay Jacobs; a son, Billy Johnson (Elsa); two brothers, Huey Dubberly (Vonnie) and Cutis Dubberly (Carolyn); a sister, Delphine Stone; as well as fourteen grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren, thirty-six great great grandchildren, and twelve great great great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at Palmetto Cemetery in Brunswick, Georgia on Friday, August 18, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home is honored to have been entrusted with the arrangements.
