

He was born March 15, 1929 in Sylacauga, AL in Talladega County and was the youngest of 4 children.
Mr. Ashley served in the Air Force as Corporal from 1947-1950.
He married Annie Myrtle Suddeth in Macon, Georgia in 1953. He worked in Data Processing in Atlanta, Georgia for most of his career before moving to Brunswick in 1998. He worked for the Garden Shop Florist from 1998-2004, and worked for Edo Miller Funeral Home from 2004-2009 before retiring.
He was a member of Golden Isles Parkway Church of God in Brunswick where he served as a Deacon and Usher Captain for many years. He was very outgoing and known for his joke telling and great sense of humor. His favorite pastimes were singing, fishing, playing the piano and guitar and cooking his “special” coconut pie for his family and friends.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Annie Myrtle Suddeth Ashley, two brothers, Willie Fred Ashley and Quention B. Ashley, and one sister, Mamie V. Hughes.
Mr. Ashley is survived by his daughters, Zelda M. Ingold(Dave), of Brunswick, GA., and Debbie J. Charnock(Dick) of Brunswick, GA.., three grandchildren Kerri Stephens, Amanda Ferrell, and David S. Ingold, and two great grandsons, Britton R. Adams, and Kylar J. Adams, and several nieces and nephews.
The service will be held January 7,2015 at Golden Isles Parkway Church of God with family receiving friends one hour prior to service from 1-2 at the church. Reverend Bobby Tatum and Reverend Ray Dawson will be officiating.
A private entombment will be held at Glen Haven Memorial in Macon, GA.
Pallbearers are David Ingold, John Hitt, Jack Farrabee, Wayne Hutcheson, Don Hutchinson and Arlie McNeill.
Honorary Pallbearers are Billy Fred Ashley, Rick Ashley, Danny Wayne Ashley, William Vavaida, Earl Parrish, Frank Clifton, Worth Clifton and Phillip Clifton.
