

Frances Braddy Parkerson, 95, of Brunswick, GA went to be with her Lord on Sunday the 15th of September 2013 at her residence. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Thursday the 19th of September 2013 in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Reverend Tommy McMiillan officiating the celebration of the long, happy, and fulfilled life of Frances Parkerson. Interment immediately following the service at Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery. Serving active pallbearers will be Frances’s grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be the Ruth Sunday School Class.
Family will receive friends at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with a catered reception one hour prior to service , 10 AM – 11 AM , Thursday the 19th of September 2013.
Frances was born the 24th of January 1918, in Dublin, GA to the late Roderick Henry Braddy and the late Phosie Gillman Braddy. She was a graduate of Eastman High School. She married William (Bill) Parkerson, also of Eastman, in 1936. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Brunswick, and was active in the Ruth Sunday School Class and the church choir. She was a past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star, Neptune Chapter153. In 1983 Frances retired from Sears with 23 years of service.
In retirement, Frances volunteered at Manna House for 15 years and was a Life Member of the Southeast Georgia Health System Auxiliary. She enjoyed traveling to the Passion Play in Germany, the Holy Land, the United Kingdom, Canada, Hawaii, as well as several of the contiguous United States, including Alaska.
In addition to Frances’s parents she is preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, two sisters, and a special friend, Mrs. Elsie Richards.
Survivors include her two daughters, Carolyn Hansen and husband James of Watkinsville, GA ;and Suzanne Palmer and husband Bob of Brunswick, GA; her son David Parkerson of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Frances is also survived by five grandsons; Paul and Jon Hansen, Jeffery and Kevin Palmer, and Phillip Parkerson; seven great-grandchildren; and many other relatives.
The family would like to send a very special thank you to her caregiver and constant companion Sharon Graham. She made it possible for Frances to live out her remaining days in her own home which was a fervent wish of hers.
