

Mrs. Beard was a native of Captina, West Virginia, but had resided in Brunswick, Georgia most of her adult life. She was the daughter of the late James Egan and Eva Lena French. She was the loving wife for over fifty nine years to the late Robert Bruce Beard. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Beard was also employed with Brunswick Manufacturing for twenty two years and Atlantic Engineering for eleven years.
The family will receive friends at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 during the hours of 6-8:00 PM. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Reverend Ed Hurst officiating.
The pallbearers serving during the service will be grandsons, Sam Beard, Jason Bennett, Kenny Bennett, Billy Morris Jr., John Morris, Timmothy Keener, and Mikey Bennett.
Mrs. Beard was preceded in death by her parents, James Egan and Eva Lena French; her caring husband, Robert Bruce Beard; a son- in law, Henry Powell “Mac” McDonald. She was also preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters. Mrs. Beard is survived by a son, Sam Beard (Loyette); four daughters, June Bennett (James), Jean McDonald, Bobbie Brooker (Hamp), and Marla Morris; grandchildren, Kristi, Elizabeth, Timmothy Keener; grandchildren, Jason, Kenny, Taylor, Mikey, Shelby, Carter, and Carson Bennett; grandchildren, Brian McDonald, Sam, Chelsea, and Dawson Beard; grandchildren, Valerie, Kaitlyn, Riley McCullough; grandchildren, Lisa, Shayla Ream, and Storm Keatts; grandchildren, Justin, Billy Jr., Billy III, John, Briley, and Lilly Morris; a sister-in-law, Camille O’Quinn. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Mrs. Beard loved to spend time with her family. She enjoyed working puzzles both jigsaw and word. She also enjoyed quilting, Bowling, and Bingo. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. However, her family will have many fond memories to cherish for years to come.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made in her memory to Hospice of the Golden Isles, Gideon’s, or to the Pine Ridge Baptist Church Building Fund.
