Gary was born in Brunswick to the late Edward and Essie Keen Shadron. He was a skilled pipefitter and a proud member of Local 177 Union, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his trade.
An outdoorsman at heart, Gary enjoyed hunting and fishing, with flounder gigging being a particular favorite. Time spent outdoors brought him peace and joy, especially when shared with family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Jean Racino of Brunswick; two sons, Stephen Shadron and Gary Layton Shadron, Jr. (Lindsay), both of Brunswick; a daughter, Rachel Thrift (Ponné) of Brunswick; three grandchildren, Alex Shadron of Dublin, Georgia, Shelby Shadron and Cameron Shadron, both of Brunswick; two brothers, Tonnie Shadron (Maddy) and David Shadron, all of Brunswick; along with several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Palmetto Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joe Caixeiro, Thomas Farmer, Mark Garbutt, Wendell Keen, Jimmy Roberson, and Ebo Wildman.
