

Geneva J. Bearden, 86, died Friday, October 19th at St. Luke’s Living Center in New Orleans, LA. A native of Russellville, KY, she resided in New Orleans, LA for the past 14 years, prior to that she had been a resident of Brunswick, GA for 52 years.
She was a former bus driver for the Glynn County School System, a former member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church and a current member of Oak Park Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Hilda (Justice) Jenkins; her father, T. Jenkins; her husband, Kenneth Bearden; her daughter, Gloria (Bearden) Hopkins; and her son, Danny Bearden. Survivors include her four grandchildren which includes her grandson, Kevin Hopkins and his wife Jeannette of Floyds Knobs, Indiana ; three granddaughters, Elicia (Hopkins) White and her husband Huey of New Orleans, Lousiana; Crystal (Hopkins) Feliu and her husband Adalid of Shepherdsville, Kentucky; and Ailia Hopkins of Amherst, Massachusetts; five great-grandchildren, Kristen Nakayama, Victoria White, Jacob Bierman, and Julianne Hopkins, and a great-great-grandson, Mason Arnold.
A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 25 at 2:00p.m. at Palmetto Cemetery with Reverend Ed Hurst officiating.
