
George N. Hoffman, 92, of Evanston, IL and Brunswick, GA died Friday, February 8, 2013 at his daughter’s residence in Brunswick after an extended illness. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John of the Cross in Western Springs, IL on March 2, 2013 at 9:45 a.m.
Born June 17th, 1920 in Chicago, IL to the late Alphonse and Elizabeth Moone Hoffman, he retired after more than 35 years as an engineer with Illinois Bell. Mr. Hoffman also proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was preceded in death by a brother John Hoffman, and two sisters Anne Marie Alberts and Janet Kordas.
Mr. Hoffman is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Lillian E. Hoffman, one son George Hoffman Jr. of St. Paul, MN, two daughters Lois Richter of Brunswick, GA, Marybeth Hoffman and husband George Lehnertz of Evanston, IL, four grandchildren, Elizabeth Hoffman, Michael Hoffman, Steven Richter, and Paul Richter; two great-grandchildren, Will Richter and Nick Richter, and two sisters, Sister June Hoffman of Rockford, IL and Delores O’Leary of Chicago, IL. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick, GA.
