

Funeral services will be held on Friday January 17, at 11:00 am at Bible Baptist Church, 500 Harry Driggers Boulevard in Brunswick. Pastor Mike Landrum will officiate. Burial will follow at Chapel Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held at the Church one hour before the service.10 AM – 11 AM. Kirk Branch, Chris Hessen, Sam Potts, Henry Pruitt, Steve Self, and Brian Walker are serving pallbearers.
A former resident of Alexandria, VA, and Brunswick, GA, Greg graduated from Heritage Christian Academy in Brunswick. Greg was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Brunswick, GA and was saved at a young age. He competed and won several scripture memory competitions throughout his childhood and teen years.
Greg was one of the first employees at the Outback Restaurant on St. Simons Island and was an outstanding server and kitchen employee. He moved to Athens, GA, where he lived for 10 years. He had a passion for the restaurant business and worked at the Outback and Logan’s Roadhouse Restaurants. He was an excellent cook. He was a member of the Athens Dart Association and his team won first place more than once. .
Greg was very funny, had a great personality and was loved by his family and the numerous friends in Athens. He loved sports and had a knack for recalling statistics. He was also a pretty fair golfer.
Survivors include his heartbroken parents, Winnie and Diane Evans of Brunswick, a brother, Brian Evans and wife Liz of St. Simons Island, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
