

Harold W. Brown, “Hal”, 83, of Brunswick, departed this life Saturday, April 9, 2016 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Jacksonville, Florida. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Saturday, April 16, 2016 at St. Francis Catholic Church with military honors.
Born March 15, 1933 in Sturgis, Michigan to the late Glenn L. and Thelma F Brown, he was a veteran of the US Navy serving for 22 years during Korea and Vietnam as a PHC. After his military service he attended Brunswick Junior College and started a career as an x-ray technician with Brunswick Memorial Hospital and then took further training to work as a nuclear medicine technician from which he retired after working 22 years at the hospital. After retirement he enjoyed golfing, doing puzzles, traveling, playing cards, baking, and spending time with his family. He was a longtime, faithful member of St. Francis Catholic Church and active in various ways. He spent many hours volunteering with the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion, Post #9, serving meals at the Manna House, and many Sunday’s at the International Seaman’s House.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Ann L. Brown of Brunswick, 4 children, Ken & Sue Zmudzinski of Grand Rapids, MI, Julia and Gary Kersey of Acworth, GA, Ted and Jody Brown of Mt. Juliet, TN, and Stacia Triplett of Acworth, GA, 7 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers’ Charles Brown and family of Mt. Dora, FL and Donald Brown and family of Traverse City, MI., Thomas Daigle and family of Charlotte, NC, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 3 siblings.
His most recent military honor of being a participant in the Honor Flight program to Washington, DC was a very special experience he would have wanted other veterans to have, donations can be made in his memory to: Coastal Georgia Honor Flight, P O Box 2837, Brunswick, GA 31521 or his other interest the S.F.X. The family will receive friends Friday evening, April 15, 2016 from 6PM until
