Harold P. Hawthorne, 81, of Darien, departed this life Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Hospice of the Golden Isles. Memorial services will be conducted at 2PM Friday, April 27, 2018 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
Born February 22, 1937 in McIntosh County, Georgia to the late Daniel and Bertha Mae Hawthorne, he was a veteran of the US Air Force. Mr. Hawthorne retired from Ft. Stewart as a Fire Chief and was a lifelong resident of McIntosh County. He was a member of Live Oak Masonic Lodge 137, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family. Mr. Hawthorne also enjoyed fishing and college football. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Roy Hawthorne, Daniel Hawthorne, and Billy Hawthorne.
Survivors include his son, Greg Hawthorne and wife Deborah of St. Simons Island, two granddaughters, Emma Lois Hawthorne and Anna Victoria Hawthorne.
