Herbert Stanley Frederick

Herbert Frederick, 81, of St. Simons Island, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2012 at SGHS Brunswick Campus. Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Friday, January 13, 2012 at Unitarian Universalist of Coastal Georgia Church. Interment will be following at Palmetto Cemetery.

Born March 3, 1930 in New York, New York, to the late Harry and Ethel K. Frederick, he was a former US Air Force Veteran, and a retired tax director with Coats and Clark after 27 years of service. He attended Baylor University, had a bachelor’s degree from City College of New York and received an MBA from Pace University. Mr. Frederick was an active volunteer with many local charitable organizations including, Manna House, and he delivered food to several organizations in the area. He was an avid traveler, gardener, enjoyed stamp collecting and loved watching sports. He had resided in Glynn County for the past 14 years and was an active member of The Unitarian Universalists of Coastal Georgia where he also served as treasurer.

Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Judy Frederick of St. Simons Island, three sons, Harvey Frederick of New Haven, CT, Troy Ball of Bridgeport, CT, and Jason Pauley and wife Mandy of Atlanta, GA, two daughters, Ethel Frederick of San Diego, CA, and Jennifer Buckner and husband Lee of Shinnston, WV, seven grandchildren, Donald Frederick, Heather Frederick, Jesse Frederick, Shoshanna Fleury, Bruce Fleury, Isabella Buckner, and Gabriella Buckner, his beloved canine companion, Oliver Frederick, several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of The Golden Isles, or Humane Society of South Coastal Georgia.
