Hubert Allen Barr Jr.

Allen was born October 24, 1957 in Dublin, Georgia the son of Betty Barr and the late Hubert Allen Barr Sr. He was a resident of Brunswick, Georgia most of his life. He was a devoted husband for forty years to Lisa Barr. They were blessed to have two children and four grandchildren. Allen was a well known and loved contractor in the Golden Isles for over 40 years.

Allen was preceded in death by his father, Hubert Allen Barr Sr. He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Barr of Brunswick, GA; one son, Allen “Bubba” Barr III (Hayley) of Brunswick, GA; a daughter, Kristy Guinn of Waycross, GA; four precious grandchildren, Emily Jayde, Levi Allen, and Aubree June Barr of Brunswick, GA and Kasen Lynnae Guinn of Waycross, GA, his mother, Betty Anderson of Brunswick, GA; one brother, Gene Barr (Gale) of Brunswick, GA; a sister, Linda Pate (R. J.) of Brunswick, GA and 2 nephews, Dave and Brian.

Allen was more than a man, he was a hero to his children and grand babies, a rock for his family, a loyal friend to many and a loving husband and son. Allen cherished time with his family and friends, especially his grandkids. He loved to fish in the Florida keys, and browse Florida Flea markets. He was a gifted carpenter, classic car enthusiast and the ultimate Grillmaster. Allen will be incredibly missed by all who knew and loved him. He leaves his family with an abundance of irreplaceable memories.

The family will receive friends during the hours of 5:00 –8:00 PM on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, The family cordially invites you to attend the Celebration of Life Service in vibrant colors to honor the him. The service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, July 21, 2017 in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Brother Randy Lamb officiating the service. The interment will follow the service in Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers serving during the service will be Bruce Kennedy, Allen “Bubba” Barr, Chuck Dixon, Chris Smith, Dave Barr and RJ Pate
