Hugh "Trey" Spencer Tait III

Hugh Spencer Tait III (Trey), 68, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday afternoon, April 22, 2025, in Brunswick, Georgia. Trey was born in Brunswick to Hugh Spencer Tait Jr. and Bonnie M. Tait on August 17, 1956.

Trey Tait attended Brunswick High School and graduated in 1974. He also graduated from the College of Coastal Georgia with Honors. He studied to be an electrician/HVAC and minored in business. Trey worked for Boatwright Heating & Air out of school up until the 90s. Trey then bought Tait’s Feed & Seed in 1990 and fell in love with the place. Trey transformed a struggling feed store into a store that focused on helping customers make their yards better overall. Trey enjoyed helping the customers with more than just the products he sold; he would do everything he could to make Glynn County look good.

Trey enjoyed many things other than his store, even though he spent much of his time there. Trey found joy in fishing, and he was pretty good at it. He spent many hours on the water throughout his lifetime. Trey also enjoyed gardening, skiing, golfing, and spending time with family.

Trey Tait is survived by his wife, Debbra Lynn Tait, of Brunswick; his parents, Hugh Spencer Tait (Spencer) and Bonnie Tait, of Brunswick; his sister, Ann Morgan, of Brunswick, his brother, Tim Tait, of Brunswick; two children, Tyler Tait and Amber Tait Thornton (Matt), both of Brunswick; two stepchildren, Lezlie Brant and Jonathan Traynham, both of Jacksonville; and six grandchildren, Skylar, Lena, Shelby, Austin, Tristen, and Katherine.

Trey was preceded in death by his sister, Marsha Tait Meyers, of Brunswick.

There will be a Visitation on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 1 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at 2 p.m. at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home in Brunswick, Georgia.
