

James Dunn Gould, III, 90, of Saint Simons Island, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2012. A memorial service will be held at Christ Church Frederica on Saint Simons Island at 11AM with Father Stephen McWhorter officiating.
James was born February 19, 1922 to the late James Gould and Clara Wood Gould in Brunswick. He is a United States Air Force Veteran and he served during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He served as a combat aviator and he is the last surviving crew member of the B24 “Balls of Fire.” He was a member of Christ Church Frederica, president of the Kiwanis Club, served four years on the State Health Review Board, U.S Army Association, 15th Air Force Association and the Saint Simons Island Rotary Club.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister: Clara Marie Gould.
Survivors include his wife: Mary Frances Gould of Saint Simons Island; two sons: James D. Gould, IV (Mae) and Cannon Young Gould (Beth) both of Saint Simons Island; four grandchildren: Dixie Quinn Gould, Rebecca Marie Gould, Cannon Young Gould, Jr., and Summer Laurelynn Gould and many other relatives.
