

Jimmy was born on January 26, 1948 in Fernandina Beach, Florida and was raised in Texas until moving to Brunswick, Georgia. He graduated from Glynn Academy in 1967 and joined the U S Army where he was stationed at Long Binh during the Viet Nam War. After his military service, Jimmy worked as a Fireman/EMT at Jekyll Island Fire Department. He had always wanted to be a Police Officer and joined the Brunswick Police Department in 1978 where he worked for 12 years. He moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 1991 and worked as a Police Officer with the State of Florida at University of North Florida before retiring in 2007. Jimmy moved back to Brunswick where he lived until his passing.
Friends will remember Jimmy's great sense of humor and love of family. He was a loving, practical joker all of his life. He was an animal lover and always had a dog or two by his side.
Jimmy leaves behind a devoted wife, Connie Ringle Joyner, daughter Holly Berg (Delvin), son Jason Joyner (Tiffany), step-daughter Wendi O'Connor (Jim), step-son William Ringle, sister Lou Watson (Walter), Eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Jimmy will be held Thursday, October 24, 2024 from 2:00 to 3:00pm with the memorial service beginning at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, 3321 Glynn Avenue, Brunswick, Georgia 31520.
