

Mrs. Jacobs was born April 1, 1936, in Middletown, Indiana to the late James Lewis and Lillian Anderson Keesling. She had been a resident of Brunswick since 1964. She was a graduate of Middletown High School and Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, Ohio.
Mrs. Jacobs was a gifted pianist and musician. She volunteered in numerous organizations, and served on the boards of the Y.W.C.A, and Epworth-By-the-Sea.
Mrs. Jacobs was a member of College Place United Methodist Church in Brunswick for 39 years, and was very active in the church she loved. Jane shared her love of music as the church pianist, partnering with her husband of 51 years, Russell, who continues to play the organ at the church. She was a member of the New Life Sunday School Class, and held many district and conference offices for the United Methodist Women. Her hobbies included playing the piano, reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Russell C. Jacobs, Jr. of Brunswick, two sons, Russell C. Jacobs, III (Cindy) of St. Simons, Jim Jacobs(Stephanie) of Brunswick, and a daughter, Ruth Ann Jacobs Hampton of Brunswick, and grandchildren, Madeline Jacobs, Parker Jacobs, Jacob Hampton and Emily Hampton.
A celebration of Jane's life will be held at 11 AM Saturday, January 14, 2012, at College Place United Methodist Church with the Reverends Rob Grotheer and Sam Rogers officiating.
The family will receive friends after the service at a reception to be held in the church fellowship hall, and request in lieu of flowers contributions to the College Place United Methodist Church (Abiding Memorial Fund), 3890 Altama Ave., Brunswick, Ga., 31520.
