Janice Alfretta Lawson Brown was born December 28, 1942 in Kingsport, TN and passed away on April 5, 2018 in Brunswick, GA. She attended high school in Rogersville, TN. After attending Lees-McRae College, she married William Lawson who became a prominent attorney in Atlanta. She loved playing tennis in Atlanta and in Athens, GA near her summer home. She married Rudy Brown in 2005, and they lived in Sunset, SC, and, most recently, in Brunswick, GA.
Janice is survived by her husband Rudy Brown; her son William T. Lawson (Kelly); her sisters Betty Jo Jackson and Dorothy Bailey of Kingsport, TN.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Athens First United Methodist Church (327 N. Lumpkin Street, Athens, GA 30601).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lees-McRae College in the name of Janice Alfretta Lawson Brown or to a charity of your choice.
