Jerome Thomas Dean Sr.

Jerome Thomas Dean, Sr., 64, of Waverly departed this life Saturday, October 20, 2018 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Tuesday, October 23, 2018 in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Kris Dockery officiating. Interment will follow in Taylors UMC Cemetery with Jeff Henderson, Paul Henderson, Randy Stone, Jesse Henderson, Will Wood , and Charles Lewis serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Herman Diestel, Tilly Williams, Leon Wilson, Tony Williams, Members of Hickory Bluff Fishing Club and Employees of Macaljon.

Born December 31, 1954 in Augusta, Georgia to the late Thomas J. and Doris Inez W. Dean, he was a graduate of Brunswick High School Class of 1972. He was a former resident of Brantley County and had been a resident of Waverly since 2003. Mr. Dean was a Supervisor with Macaljon, and a manager at Hickory Bluff Marina. He was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Diane Dean, a son Jamie Dean and wife Carla of Waverly, two daughters, Mandy Bessing and Husband John Brooks of Jacksonville and Brittany Henderson of Waverly, two sisters, Tina Dean of Atkinson, and Tammy Lewis of Lincolnton, grandchildren, Lindsey Wheaton and husband Cody, Abbie Brooks, John Brooks, Emmalyn Dean, Madilyn Dean, Ashley Brooks, Savannah Brooks, Breanna Buie, and Tracy Booker, two great grandchildren, Lily Wheaton and Logan Wheaton.
