

Jimmy Dixon, 68, of Brunswick, died Sunday, August 17, 2014 at his residence. Graveside rites will be held at 2 PM Saturday, August23, 2014 in Palmetto Cemetery with Rev. Tim Brown officiating. Born September 11, 1945 in Savannah, Georgia to the late Claude L. and Vera Maude H. Dixon he was a US Army Veteran serving in Vietnam. Mr. Dixon was a retired truck driver for Waggoner Truck Lines. He also worked as a projectionist for Savannah Theater, and was a 911 Dispatcher for Chatham County. Mr. Dixon also served in The Georgia National Guard and was of the Presbyterian faith. He enjoyed restoring trucks, was an avid E Bay bidder and seller, and enjoyed woodworking and gardening. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Christie Dixon, and a brother, Larry Dixon. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn H. Dixon of Brunswick, a daughter, Jessica Powell and husband Corey of Savannah, grandchildren, Christopher Matthew Powell, Michael James Powell, and Amber Powell. Brothers, Jerry Dixon of Jacksonville, and Johnny Dixon of TN, sisters, Joan Paul of Richmond Hill, and Debbie Hall of Savannah, step children Angela Morris and husband David, and john McCallum and wife Marie, all of Brunswick, step grandchildren, Johnathon Young, Alexandra Wilson, Caitlin McCallum, Dylan Spry, and Christopher Spry, step great grandchildren, Avery Spry and Caroline Spry, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Friday evening, August 22, 2014 from 6PM until 8 PM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
