Joan Ethlyn Wood Walling

Mrs. Walling was born August 10, 1933, the daughter of the late Ray Gordon Wood and the late Ethel Marion Wood. She was a lifelong resident of Brunswick, Georgia. She was the loving wife to the late Raymond Alton Walling. Mrs. Walling was a book keeper and later owner of Electrical Supply Incorporated of Brunswick.

Mrs. Walling was preceded in death by her parents, Ray Gordon Wood and Ethel Marion Wood; her husband, Raymond Alton Walling; and her son Eric Walling. Left to cherish her memories is her daughter, Eve Walling Wohlford (Roger) of Greenwood, SC; her two sons, Chris Walling (Sandra) of Brunswick, GA and Brannon Ray Walling (Helen) of St. Simons Island, GA; her daughter-in-law Jeanne Tusa Walling; one grandson Colin Wohlford (Amanda) Hanahan, SC; four granddaughters, Tristan Merriman of Ridgecrest, CA; Sarah Walling; Rachel Walling of Columbia, SC; and Katie Maslin of Brunswick.

Mrs. Walling was a former member of the Island Players and loved to travel. She enjoyed gardening and needlework. She was also an avid reader. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Walling loved her grandchildren dearly. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her family will have many fond memories to cherish for years to come.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at her residence on Saturday, December 2, 2017 during the hours of 2:00 – 4:00 PM. Family and friends are cordially invited to honor Mrs. Walling’s life at the gathering with a catered reception at the Celebration of Life.
