Mr. Almand was a native of Atlanta, Georgia and was a graduate of Glynn Academy, Class of 1975. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1978 to 1982.
He was employed with Lockheed martin in Kings Bay for 11 years, Mitchell Construction and was the owner of Almand Power Systems.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Julie Gaddis.
Survivors are his wife, BeBe Almand of St. Simons Island, a son, John-John Almand of St. Simons, a step daughter, Anna Flournoy of St. Simons, his mother, Margaret Hardy of Jasper, Ga., his father, Arnold Almand of Dacula, Ga., sister, Carol Ann Stabrowski of Alpharetta, Ga., and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Graveside Services will be held at 2 PM Thursday 10/4/12 in Palmetto Cemetery in Brunswick, Georgia. Rev. Steve Irre will be officiating.
The family request those wishing may make contributions to the Heartland Hospice or the Children’s Healthcare at Atlanta Foundation.
