John Jerry Blackburn

Mrs. Blackburn was a native of Surry County, North Carolina and had been a resident of McIntosh for the past 50 years. He was a former employee of Altama Delta in Darien and was a farmer.

Survivors are his wife of 44 ½ years, Minnie Rozier Blackburn of Darien, a son, Paul Blackburn of Darien, a brother, Dr. Edwin Blackburn of Darien, a sister, Melinda Blackburn of Darien, a grandson, John T. Blackburn of Darien, a granddaughter, Jessica McSpadden of Englewood, Fl., a great granddaughter, Kailyee McSpadden of Darien, a daughter-in-law, Michele Blackburn of Darien.

Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday from the Davis Cemetery in Long County with Rev. Tommy Whaley and Rev. J. W. Griffin officiating.

Active pallbearers will be: Bill Rozier, John Blackburn, Ken Miller, Wesley Grifffin, Joseph Miller and Larry Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be: Ed Deal, Harles Ryals, Mason Ryals, Mickey Olsen, Mickey Ryals, Tom Rowe, Rickie Rowe, Robert Thomas, Bill Davis, and Elton Poppell.

The visitation will be start at 6 PM at the Darien Church of God on Tuesday 9/28/2010.
