Jonell Thompson

Jonell was preceded in death by her father Wade Davis, her mother Maxie Jackson, her husband of 53 years W.L. “Bill” Thompson, and several aunts and uncles. She is survived by her daughter Corbitt Gipson, her son Speck Thompson and Marilyn Williams, and her grandchildren Levi & Caleb Thompson.

She was the Worthy Grand Matron of the Order of Eastern Star for the state of Georgia in 1995. She was also the Worthy Matron of Marshes of Glynn #243, as well as being Royal Matron for the Port City Court #24, and a Duel Member of Brunswick court #19.

Jonell was a lifetime member of Norwich Baptist Church, as well as a 30 year volunteer at the Brunswick Campus of the Southeast Georgia Health System.

Active pallbearers will be Bruce Buie, Randy Jackson, Darrell Thomas, Keith Stephens, Rick Smith, and Stevie Stephens. Honorary pallbearers will be Order of Eastern Star, Order of Amaranth, and the Hospital Auxiliary Volunteers.

Services will be held Friday, November 9, 2018 at Edo Miller and Sons. Visitation is at 9am, Service is at 10am with Dr. Glenn Carson officiating. Interment to follow at Palmetto Cemetery.
