

Joyce was born November 16, 1935 in London, England the daughter of the late Michael Phillips and the late Annie Prince Phillips. She was the devoted wife to the late Rossie Virgil Brooks. She was also a loving mother to her children and a loving grandmother to her grandchildren. Joyce has resided in Brunswick for the past fifty years and was a homemaker that took great pride in tending to her family’s needs.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Michael Phillips and Annie Prince Phillips; a daughter, Rosiland Bobbie Brooks; two brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death. Left to cherish her memories are her two daughters, Virginia Joiner (Larry) and Susan Spell (William) both of Brunswick, GA; her only son, David H. Brooks of Brunswick, GA; six grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Steven Spell, Brian Spell, Mary Allison Anderson, Joshua Joiner, Jason Joiner, and Donavan Morris; her precious great grandchildren, Andrew Manning, Matthew Manning, Bryson Miller, Natalie Joiner, Zander Spell, and John Franklin “JJ” Joiner. Several nieces, nephews, and friends also survive.
Joyce was British in her mannerism and was a private person as well. She was also a dignified and proper lady. Joyce loved to spend time with her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking and sewing. She also enjoyed history and the beauty of the beach. Joyce had a special love for all children. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her family will have many fond memories to cherish for years to come.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. A Graveside Service to honor her life will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery in Brunswick, Georgia.
