Joyce was born August 14, 1944 in Windsor, North Carolina the daughter of the late Jesse Vernon Edmondson and The Late Irma Hayes Edmondson. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Randy Allen Bonds Jr.
Joyce resided most of her childhood and teenage years in Williamston, North Carolina. She was a graduate of Williamston High School and attended Martin Community College. Joyce lived most of her adult life in Jacksonville, Florida before moving to Brunswick, Georgia. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was also a homemaker that enjoyed providing for her family.
Left to cherish Joyce’s memories are her devoted husband of twenty-five years, Joseph William Turner Sr. of Brunswick, GA; a daughter, Linda Sue Bonds (Johnny Ray Dail) of Williamston, NC; her four sons, Randy Allen Bonds Sr. (Jennifer) of Williamston, NC, Joseph William Turner Jr. of St. Marys, GA, Robert Turner of Jacksonville, FL, and John David Turner (Kimberlee) of Fort Mill, SC; eleven grandchildren, Brandy Lynn Bonds, Jesse Scott Bonds, Adams Dean Bonds, Matthew Allen Williams, Kelli Marie Williams, Emma Hayes Williams, Ella Grace Williams, Cody Russell Turner (Mandy), Dixie Marie Turner, Harley Michael Turner, and Claire Marie Turner; seven precious great grandchildren, David, Eli, Parker, Noah, Rogue, Joseph, Scarlet. A brother, Clayton Edmondson of Rocky Mount, NC also survives.
Joyce enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing. She also enjoyed spending time on her computer. Joyce also loved her three cats.
The family will receive friends between 10:00 – 11:00 AM Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home in Brunswick, Georgia. A funeral service to honor Joyce’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Bennie Nolen officiating. A private burial will be held after the service in Evergreen Cemetery.
