Justin was born October 9, 1992 in Brunswick, Georgia and spent his childhood years in Darien, Georgia. He was a graduate of McIntosh Academy. He was a Fisherman and enjoyed working on the shrimp boat until he became physically unable to work. Justin moved to Brunswick five years ago to be close to his mother. Even though Justin struggled with health issues from a young age and attending school on a regular schedule was impossible, he was determined to graduate from high school. He stood steadfast in achieving his goal and told his Mother when he graduated that the diploma was for her. She keeps it on her dresser to this day. It was with this same determination that he fought his illness every day. Justin lived his life to the fullest and always bought joy to everyone that he came in contact with. He was very independent and did not ask for anything. He was also a loving and kind man that was always willing to help others.
Justin was preceded in death by his grandfathers, George William Trutt Sr and Joe “Papa Joe” Taylor. Left behind to cherish his memories is his mother, Melanie Cook and her husband Scott Cook of Brunswick, GA; his father, George “Bubba” William Trutt Jr of Darien, GA; his four brothers, Joseph Trutt, Josh Trutt, Trevor Trutt, and Hunter Cook all of Brunswick, GA; his two sisters, Elizabeth Bumby of Brunswick, GA and Kaitlyn Trutt of Darien, GA; his grandmothers, Jan Taylor “MeMa” of Brunswick, GA and Marie Trutt “Nanie” of Darien, GA; his grandfather, Mitchell Scott “Papa” of Jesup, GA.
Justin was a compassionate person with a magnetic personality. He always bought joy and laughter to those around him. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He always lived each day as if there was no tomorrow. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. His family will have many fond memories to cherish for years to come.
