Keith Charles Lawrence

Keith is survived by his wife, Janee Lawrence; his two sons, Chris Lawrence (Liz) and Scott Lawrence; sister, Denise Grause (Ken), brother, David Lawrence (Susan), and granddaughters, Charlotte, Lucy, and Amelia Lawrence. He was preceded in death by his parents, D.J. and Loraine Lawrence.

Keith attended Highlands High School where he was a member of the Bluebirds varsity basketball team and graduated in 1967. He graduated from Western Kentucky University in 1971 where he was a member of SAE and majored in Business Administration. Following graduation, he went to work for Southern Bell in Atlanta, GA as a programmer. He spent his entire career working for the phone company and made numerous moves around the Southeast and a short assignment in New Jersey. In 1978 he met Janee Hull on a cruise in the Caribbean. They later married in August 1979 and welcomed their sons Chris in 1983, and Scott in 1985.

Keith enjoyed coaching his sons in baseball and basketball, and was a life-long University of Kentucky basketball fan. He enjoyed playing golf, traveling, fine dining, bourbon, and spending time with friends and family. He retired from AT&T in 2006 and moved to Southeast Georgia in 2009. Keith adored his family, in particular his three granddaughters.

He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

A service to celebrate Keith’s life will be held Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Reverend Wright Culpepper officiating. A reception will be held immediately following the service at Sanctuary Cove River House, 69 River Oaks Trail, Waverly, GA 31565.
