

Kennis W. Lastinger, 78, of Brunswick, died Monday, January 28, 2013 at Hospice of The golden Isles. Funeral services will be held 11AM Friday in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Crandall and Rev. Jim Wigton officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Park Cemetery with Jimmy Carter, Sam Carter, Jeremy Davis, Ward Kaiser, Ronnie Hughes and Sam Colon Rivera serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will include Members of Adult 5 Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church of Brunswick, Members of The Exchange Club, Ocean Lodge 214, OMNI Workers of FLETC, The Brunswick Shrine Club, D.B. Harrell, Ed Withrow, and Dr. Osta and Staff.
Born October 21, 1934 in Brantley County, Georgia to the late Arthur W. and Lora D. Lastinger, he was a retired parts manger from Coastal Chevrolet, and was a OMNI worker with FLETC. Mr. Lastinger was a member of First Baptist Church of Brunswick and had been a resident of Glynn County Since 1967. He enjoyed riding his tractor, gardening, and working on his cars. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Ted Lastinger and a sister, Alice James.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Peggy A. Lastinger of Brunswick, a son, Karl Lastinger and wife Marie of Springfield, GA, two daughters, Ruth Lastinger of Brunswick and Wanda Milford and her late husband Dale Milford of Evans, GA, six grandchildren, Jason Milford and wife Christi, Laura Milford, Erin Bryant, Matthew Bryant, Michael Lastinger, and Evan Lastinger, one great grandchild, Dallen Milford, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening, January 31, 2013, from 6PM until 8PM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. Those desiring may make memorials to Hospice of The Golden Isles or Shriners Children’s Hospital. www.edomillerandsons.com
