

Lamar Tucker, 77, of Brunswick, Ga., “flew to Jesus” Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at the Hospice of the Golden Isles. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. with family receiving friends one hour prior to service 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Monday, June 20, 2016 at the Christian Renewal Center in Brunswick, with Pastor Bill Ligon officiating. Burial will follow at Palmetto Cemetery.
Mr. Tucker is a lifelong residence of Brunswick, Ga., born November 13, 1938, to the late Chelius R. Tucker and the late Jetta E. Johnson Tucker. He graduated from Glynn Academy, receiving his degree in Education from the Georgia State University, teaching in the Glynn County School System for several years. He also had a career in electronics, maintenance and repair, and real estate rentals.
Mr. Tucker had been a member of the Christian Renewal Church for 36 years. He loved his family, most important he loved the Lord Jesus Christ. Mr. Tucker loved listening to the Bible on his computer, studying and meditating on the word. He also loved singing and worshiping the Lord. Truly, he would say “For me to live is Christ and to die is gain.” Phil. 1:21
In addition to Mr. Tucker’s parents he is preceded in death by his son Travis H. Tucker.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years Kyle C. Tucker of Brunswick GA; son Perry Tucker and wife Jackie of Augusta GA; four daughters Wendy Lenard and husband John of Brunswick GA, Michelle Long of Warner Robbins GA, Kim Lewis and husband Chuck, Cinthia Matjazic and husband Tim all of Brunswick GA; brother David E. Tucker and wife Peggy of Brunswick GA; sister Sharon Tucker O’Quinn and husband Charley of Brunswick GA; fourteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and several other family members.
