

Lawrence Edison LaRoche, Jr., 80, of Townsend, Georgia passed away Sunday, July 3, 2011. Memorial service will be held 11 AM Friday, July 8, 2011 at South Newport Baptist Church, with Rev. Eric Grissino, Rev. Randall LaRoche and Rev. Alan White officiating. Inurnment will take place at Hopkins Cemetery in Belleville, Georgia. Born July 25, 1930 in Starke, Florida to the late Lawrence Edison LaRoche, Sr. and Ethel Beatrice Ward LaRoche, he served in the United States Navy for 2 years, and retired from the U.S Army Corp of Engineers, having traveled extensively around the world. Mr. LaRoche earned the Purple Heart in Vietnam. He was a member of Crescent Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, traveling, and life on the water. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 2 brothers: James A. LaRoche and Joseph S. LaRoche; and one sister: Mary LaRoche Clark. He is survived by his wife of 51 years: Mitzi C. LaRoche of Townsend; 2 sons: Lawrence E. LaRoche III of Belleville and Clark LaRoche (Judy) of Shellman Bluff; 2 daughters: Terri Ann Rozier (Ivy) of Eulonia and Tracie DeWitt (Robert) of Eulonia; grandchildren: Chance LaRoche, Justin, Josh, and Jared Rozier, Randall, Barry, and Derrick LaRoche, , Chris, Renee, Aimee, Blake, Brian, and Robbie DeWitt; 5 great grandchildren: Bailey, Anna, Abigail, Landon, and Dawton LaRoche; 3 brothers: William C. LaRoche of Augusta; Douglas W. LaRoche of Brunswick; and Issac G. LaRoche of Pooler; 2 sisters: Carol V. LaRoche of Belleville and Josephine Howard of St. Simons Island; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
