Lois is predeceased by her parents, Ruth and Vernon Coley; sister, Margaret New; and her husbands, Jack Griner and Thomas Miller.
Survivors include many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Throughout her life, Lois possessed a marvelous sense of humor and reveled in telling stories from her childhood and early life — her laughter was contagious. Lois mastered the arts of complex needlepoint, crocheting and knitting. Anyone who was a recipient of one of those gifts has a treasure for the future.
In the kitchen, Lois was at her best as a superb baker who enjoyed serious cake making. In the garden, she lived up to the true meaning of having a "green thumb" and succeeded and raising unusual tropical plants in Glynn County. Heaven can be ready to receive a fun-loving, talented and independent woman.
Special thanks to her extended church family; her neighbors, Paul and Phyllis; good friend Esther; and Maureen Hersey for their support and care in the final months of her life.
The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
A private interment will be held in Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens on St. Simons Island.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Golden Isles Baptist Church, 115 Landing Road, Brunswick, GA 31520.
Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, www.edomillerandsons.com, is in charge of the arrangements.
