

Marc E. Guy, 79, of Jekyll Island, GA and Delhi, NY, died Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Hospice of The Golden Isles in Brunswick, GA. Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, March 5, 2010 at Jekyll Island United Methodist Church with Father Tony Powell officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Delhi, NY.
Born June 18, 1930 in Troy, New York to the late Marc E. Guy Sr. and V. June Bainbridge Guy, he was a retired pharmacist. Mr. Guy was a graduate of Union University and Albany College of Pharmacy, Albany, New York, class of 1952 and was a US Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. In 1956 he and Marilyn moved to Delhi, NY and purchased Merrill’s Pharmacy with he operated until 1984. He was head of pharmacy department of Del. Co. Countryside Infirmary, Delhi, NY, for38 years. Mr. Guy also owned and operated Hallmark Gold Crown Card and Gift Shop, The Mortar and Pestle in Delhi, NY. He served on many civic boards and was village trustee and mayor of Delhi for two terms. Mr. Guy was a member of St. Johns Episcopal Church in Delhi, NY as well as St. Richards Episcopal Church on Jekyll Island, GA. He and Marilyn wintered at Villas by the Sea on Jekyll Island where they met and enjoyed many loving friends. His greatest joys were his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Marilyn Thompson Guy, of Delhi, NY, a daughter, Marcia Pavlica and husband Michael of Burns, WY, two sons, Marc A. Guy and wife Karla and M. Eric Guy and wife Pamela all of Delhi, NY, five grandchildren, Jason and Karl Guy, Ryan McGraw and Jesica Guy and Rhianna Pinter, four great grandchildren, Hunter and Carly Guy, Cadance Guy and Ayden Pinther, a sister, Barbara Smith and husband Robert of Savannah, GA and two nephews.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of your choice, Alzheimer’s Org., St. John’s Episcopal Church of Delhi or St. Richards of Jekyll Island, GA.
