Margaret Chappel McBride

She was born, February 28,1949 to the late Wesley Horace Chappel & Constance Economo in Washington, District of Columbia, United States.

She met her husband, Richard B McBride, in high school & they married in August 1978. Margaret (Peg) worked for Industrial Insulation Group formally Calsilite in Brunswick GA as a Comptroller for 28 years.

Peg loved playing pool with her husband, visiting her other nieces & great nephews, exercising & volunteering at the Manna House in Brunswick with Christ Church where she was a long standing member. She loved going to the beach and always enjoyed when her daughter went too. Peg loved traveling with her sister, Tina & brother in law, Bob. Her two favorite trips were Alaska and Egypt with them.

She was preceded in death by her parents & husband, Richard B McBride.

She is survived by their daughter, Shannon M. McBride, sister Christina Harkness, brother Wesley Chappel Jr. as well as several nieces, great nieces & nephews.

Her graveside service will take place at Christ Church cemetery on January 10th 2026 at 11:00 a.m. A small gathering will be at Barbara Jeans Restaurant on St. Simon’s Island following the service.
