Marilee "Dee" Smith (GiGi)

Dee was born to William “Bill” and Marilyn Kicklighter Kellogg. She was a graduate of Glynn Academy, class of 1983. On November 2, 1985, Dee married her high school sweetheart, Thomas “Tommy” Smith.

Dee dedicated her life to helping others. Early on, she worked as a paraprofessional at Christian Renewal then FACES preschool program, Burroughs-Molette elementary school and finally Sterling Elementary prior to retirement.

Socially, if you knew Dee, you know she loved the beach and spent a lot of her time with her toes in the sand. She treasured her “girls’ trips” with her “fun peeps” along with camping and card nights with dear friends. More than anything, Dee loved her family; she enjoyed spending time with her husband Tommy, and cherished loving on her grandbabies Aydan, Mason, Mia, Blakely, Tucker and Brooks, any chance she got. She will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, a brother, Keith Kellogg, preceded her in death.

Dee is survived by her loving husband, Tommy Smith; a son, Justin Smith (Kaitlin Waller); daughter, Caitlin Bailey (Brandon); mother-in-law, Jean Smith; grandbabies, Aydan, Mason, Mia, Blakely, Tucker and Brooks; a brother, Wayne Kellogg and many loved nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held Monday evening, November 20, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
