She was born Maria Natalina Massa on December 18, 1929, in Haverford Township Delaware County PA to Italian Immigrant parents Giuseppi Massa and Nicolina Matricardi of Ascoli Piceno, Italy.
Following childhood and high school in Haverford Township she graduated from Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital of Nursing located in Darby, PA.
Married for 74 years, she lovingly raised six children while traveling throughout the coastal United States for 30 years with her Naval Aviator husband, George.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband George. She is survived by her children Leslie, George, Jr., Bill, Jane, Betsy and Stephen, as well as 18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Her legacy is one of profound and enduring love. Throughout her life, she devoted herself to family — to nurturing the bonds, traditions, and values that will outlast her.
A funeral Mass for Mary and George will be held at St William Catholic Church on June 1st at 10:00am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to St William Catholic Church, 2300 Frederica Rd, St. Simons Island, GA.
