Mitchell had an uncanny ability to comfort small children by holding them, rocking and singing to them. He always made everyone feel welcomed. He was a kind and gentle man. For a part of us went with you on the day God called you home.
Mitchell is survived by his wife, Sallie, and his children, Mitchell N. Owens (Sally), Priscilla Sosby, Paul Owens (Rhoda), Julie Ellis (Tyson) and Polly Owens, along with 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank his caregivers; Regina Hunter, Renay Hunter. Latonya Carter and Uju Mbanusi for providing comfort and excellent care.
